Jordan, 2012

Jordan is a country that we particularly love: it offers a fantastic mix of history, nature and religions. You can admire Byzantine mosaics, Crusader castles, Roman ruins, listen to the Christian bells alter to the muezzins... and then relax by staying overnight in a bungalow on the shores of the Red Sea, explore the Wadi Rum desert, or get lost in the many fortresses of the Eastern Desert.
It is a quiet country, easy to get around, with a very kind and non-insistent population.

The Colonnaded Square of Gerasa, also known as Oval Plaza, is an oval-shaped paved area surrounded by an Ionic-style colonnade dating back to the first century AD. The square is about 90 meters long and 80 meters wide. At its northern end begins the Cardo Maximus, the main colonnaded street of the ancient city.

In the middle of the square are the remains of a rectangular structure that probably supported a Roman statue, but which was later converted into a fountain.

It is one of the best-preserved archaeological sites in the Middle East and offers a splendid spectacle of the daily life and structures of the Roman city
Wadi Rum is one of the most visited areas of Jordan, partly because of the hunger given to it by "Lawrence of Arabia", partly because of its indisputable charm.
The site is easily accessible. From the visitor center you can buy various packages, from a simple excursion to an overnight stay in a tent, with all the comforts imaginable.
Its landscapes, which alternate desert with low rocky reliefs, make up a very varied kaleidoscope of natural environments.
